Pay Rate: £168 – £260 per day

Supply Desk is seeking a passionate and dedicated Mathematics Teacher to join a secondary school in Portsmouth from September 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Maths teacher or ECT who is committed to inspiring students and helping them develop confidence and enthusiasm for Mathematics. You will teach across KS3 and KS4, delivering engaging lessons that challenge and support students of all abilities.

You will become part of a supportive and well-established Maths department, working collaboratively with colleagues to raise attainment and contribute to the wider life of the school.

  • Plan and deliver engaging Mathematics lessons across KS3 and KS4

  • Assess and monitor student progress, adapting teaching where appropriate

  • Support students of different abilities to achieve their full potential

  • Establish positive relationships and maintain high expectations for behaviour and achievement

  • Create a calm, inclusive and purposeful learning environment

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues within the Maths department

  • Contribute to curriculum development and wider school activities

  • Encourage students to develop confidence, resilience and a positive attitude towards Mathematics

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

  • Strong subject knowledge in Mathematics

  • Experience teaching Mathematics at secondary level

  • Ability to motivate, challenge and engage students

  • Strong classroom management skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • A positive, proactive and adaptable approach

  • Commitment to supporting students' academic and personal development
