A dynamic and supportive community special school in Wirral, rated GOOD by Ofsted, is seeking a dedicated and passionate SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) Teacher to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching a Year 7 class, delivering a tailored curriculum to meet the diverse needs of students with SEMH difficulties.

Role Overview: The SEMH Teacher will play a crucial role in fostering a positive and nurturing learning environment where students can thrive both academically and emotionally. This is an exciting opportunity for a teacher who is committed to making a real difference in the lives of young people.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, deliver, and assess a broad and balanced curriculum for Year 7 students, with a focus on SEMH needs.
• Adapt and differentiate teaching strategies to meet individual learning needs.
• Work closely with support staff, therapists, and external agencies to ensure holistic development of each student.
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and positive behavior.
• Monitor and report on student progress, implementing interventions where necessary.
• Engage with parents and carers to build strong partnerships in support of student development.
• Contribute to the wider school community and participate in staff meetings, training, and extracurricular activities.

Essential Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK.
• Proven experience working with students with SEMH needs.
• Experience teaching at Key Stage 2 (KS2) to Key Stage 4 (KS4) level.
• Strong understanding of SEMH challenges and effective strategies for supporting students.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Desirable Requirements:

• Previous experience teaching Year 7 students.
• Additional qualifications or training in SEN/SEMH education.
• Experience in delivering a cross-curricular approach to learning.
• Ability to use data and assessment to inform teaching practice and drive progress.
