Maths Teacher– start asap

A position has become available for a full time – temporary Maths teacher at a school in the Trafford area of Manchester. The school was rated ‘Good’ in its last Ofsted inspection and has a very strong support network set up for its staff that is fronted by an excellent SLT department. The school is located in South Manchester, approximately 35 minutes by public transport. It would be desirable to have access to a vehicle for easy access to the school but this is by no means essential.

The school are looking to appoint the role to the right candidate as soon as possible with a start date of before Christmas ideally, however a January start could be negotiable. Whilst the role is temporary, there is the possibility of it becoming permanent after the contract has finished. It is a full time position meaning that the ideal candidate would have to be available Monday – Friday from 8:30am – 3:30pm each week.

The role would require teaching Maths to a KS3 and KS4 level (GCSE curriculum). This would involve planning and delivering challenging lessons that can stretch pupils of varying ability. Being responsible for pupil attainment across each year group and completing accurate assessments will all be part of the candidates responsibilities. Some of the essential requirements for the role are listed below:

  • QTS in Mathematics
  • Strong behaviour management skills
  • Strong Literacy and Numeracy skills
  • Strong knowledge of Safeguarding procedures within schools

This role is suitable to both NQT’s and experienced teachers looking to expand their subject knowledge and for the opportunity to work in a good school that services an excellent catchment area in south Manchester.

  • Pay: MPS1: £25,714 - MPS6: £36,961 per annum depending on experience.
  • Monday – Friday
  • Full time – temporary with possibility of permanent.
