Job Description: Math Graduate (Support Role)

Location - North West England, Greater Manchester, Tameside

Job Type - Contract, expected to work Full-Time hours

Job advert for Teaching Personnel: We are in need of a math graduate to support underachieving students and develop their experience within an educational setting.

Job Duties

  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to underachieving students in mathematics
  • Assist in developing and implementing individualised learning plans
  • Deliver engaging and interactive math lessons tailored to the students' needs
  • Monitor and track student progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and parents
  • Identify learning gaps and implement appropriate strategies to address them
  • Collaborate with teachers to create supplementary materials and resources
  • Support students during exams and assessments
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance and performance

Required Qualifications

A degree in Mathematics or related field

Strong knowledge of the UK national curriculum for mathematics

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual student needs

Patience and empathy in working with underachieving students

Education

Bachelor's degree in Mathematics or related field

Experience

  • Prior experience working with students in an educational or tutoring setting is preferred, but not required.
  • Knowledge and Skills
  • Deep understanding of mathematical concepts and problem-solving techniques
  • Familiarity with various teaching strategies and resources
  • Proficiency in using technology and software relevant to mathematics education
  • Ability to assess student learning needs and adjust instructional methods accordingly
  • Strong organisational and time management skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in providing support to underachieving students
  • Knowledge of additional subjects within the school curriculum
  • Experience with data analysis and assessment tools

Working Conditions

This role will primarily be based in an educational setting, such as a school or tutoring centre. The working hours will follow a full-time schedule as per the contract. The candidate may need to adapt to varying classroom environments and work closely with teachers, students, and parents.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
