Are you an English teacher seeking a rewarding opportunity in a supportive educational environment? We are looking for an experienced English teacher to join one of our client secondary schools in the Andover area of Hampshire as a Head of English. This position is on a permanent basis, meaning that the successful educator will be salaried directly through the school and be given a TLR for the extra Head of Department responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the department, inducting, developing, deploying, motivating and appraising staff where relevant

Ensure that staff have clear expectations of their roles, and that high standards are achieved and maintained.

Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality English lessons that cater to the diverse needs of students across Key Stage 3 and 4.

Foster a love for literature and language in students, encouraging critical thinking and creativity.

Assess and monitor student progress, providing regular feedback to support their academic development.

Contribute to the wider school community through extracurricular activities, clubs, or events.

Uphold the school's policies and procedures, promoting a positive and inclusive atmosphere.

Requirements:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree in English or related field.

Proven experience teaching English at secondary school level.

Strong knowledge of the English curriculum and assessment methods.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to inspire and motivate students to achieve their best.
