Are you passionate about helping young people build confidence in English and Maths?

We are seeking a dedicated Functional Skills Tutor to provide high-quality, personalised tuition to students who require additional support to achieve their educational goals. This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful difference by delivering engaging lessons that inspire progress and develop essential life skills.

  • Plan and deliver engaging Functional Skills lessons in English and/or Maths.
  • Adapt learning materials and teaching approaches to meet individual student needs.
  • Deliver one-to-one or small group tuition.
  • Assess learners' progress and maintain accurate records.
  • Create a positive, supportive learning environment that encourages confidence and independence.
  • Work collaboratively with schools, parents and other professionals where required.
  • Experience teaching or tutoring Functional Skills, English and/or Maths.
  • A recognised teaching qualification (QTS, PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS, or equivalent) is desirable.
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills.
  • Experience supporting learners with additional needs is advantageous.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Full right to work in the UK.
